She was built to be unsinkable and formidable in the event of the worst storm which she could encounter. She was destined to become a major landmark and soon to be icon of the world. While she was designed to outlast even the strongest storm, the fate of Titanic proved to be one of the living proofs that man could not overcome nature. RMS Titanic has become one of a picture of modern day Tower of Babel. While the ship has met its fate in the treacherous waters of Northern Atlantic Ocean, yet, the story of this giant of the sea still amazed people from all walks of life.  And it is not surprising that Titanic pictures will captivate all people whether they are on maritime field or not.

She was named after the giants. Never before did men would be able to see the splendors and magnificence of a ship than they have when Titanic was born. She was the monstrous of the sea, a wonder that could be compared to the Colossus of Rome. In spite of its design to withstand the treacherous Atlantic Ocean, Titanic has never escaped the fury of nature.  In the end, it met its fate in the cold waters of Northern Atlantic on its maiden voyage.  With only one voyage, Titanic did not even complete its transatlantic voyage. And for this reason, it has become man’s painful story of failure. Titanic was built during the time when crossing the Atlantic was so terrible. Atlantic was a natural boundary between Europe and the Americas. The cold Northern Atlantic waters are something that is hard for a survivor to withstand. With waters below freezing point, a person swimming in these waters will surely die of hypothermia in less than ten minutes.

The Titanic was a marvel on its era. It was the biggest ship with the best fitting. It was also designed to be a floating five star hotel. At the same time, it was also a ship that could carry anyone of any walks of life. Aside from the opulent accommodation, the ship can also accommodate thousands of third class passengers. However, there are many limitations for a third class passenger. First, they were not allowed to have access to the upper deck.  Also, their foods were rationed and could not choose them at their will. And lastly, they were not counted as potential passengers for the lifeboats.
